My(also nickname Instapot) is a big part of my kitchen. .
So when it stops working, I'll let the riot take place. I was wondering how to troubleshoot the most common problems and found that most were easy fixes. Here's what you need to know to keep your Instapot up and running, too.
Problem 1: Dead screen
No matter what button you push, nothing happens. There is no beeping sound and nothing will happen on the screen.
Fixed: Do not worry, the cord is unlikely to be attached in every way. Remove the plug behind the Instant Pot and push it in, firm.
Problem 2: The screen says "Ovht"
Your Instant Pot has stopped cooking and has a weird Ovht code on the screen.
The fix: Ovht means "too much." This means that more likely, your food is burned inside a locked pot. The "C5" code on the screen is an indication that your pot is too hot.
Quick release the pressure and remove the inner pot. The situation is, you did not put enough moisture in the pot, which caused all the overheating and burning. Next time, closely follow the directions of the recipe for how much liquid to add to the ingredients.
The Instant Pot keeps crying after you start it, apparently no reason.
Crying means that the pot is too heavy to emit because there is not enough liquid in the pot. It informs you before the start of the object is burned and the Ovht code pops up on the screen. Rapid release of any pressure and add more liquid to the inner pot.
Problem: The lid can not stop
No matter how much you fight it, the cover will not only come about.
fix: Check the small steam handle release button. If it's up, push it down. The button should be down for cover to open or close.
If it does not work, check that the seal is in the right place. It should be kept close to the side of the eyelid.
Problem: The screen "noPr" says
The "noPr" code on the screen means that the pot does not build pressure like this.
Fixed: This problem is usually due to a leaky lid, or the steam release handle is not in the sealed position in all manner. First, check the steam release handle and make sure where it should be.
If the handle is in the correct position, quickly release the remaining pressure, remove the cover and let it know. Then look at the postage. Perhaps it is out of place or dirty, preventing it from sealing.
Another reason may be that you do not have enough pottery liquids to generate pressure. Check out your recipe to make sure.
