A shooting incident in an argument over a 2-year-old's birthday party in Maryland sent seven people to the hospital Saturday night.
The shooting took place outside an apartment complex in Camp Springs, where nearly 12 people attended the festival.
An individual approached a group of party-goers where "words were exchanged" and shots were fired at the group, according to George George County County Chief Hank Stawinski.
Of the seven shootings, three were "less serious" and four were "less serious," Stawinski said. All were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
All the shootings were adults, ages 18 to 20 years old, police said .
The shooter is still large. Stawinski has not provided a description for the suspicion, but they believe that only one person is responsible for the violence.
Camp Springs, Maryland, is a suburb of Washington, D.C., about half an hour southeast of town.
