China promises to fight hard against President Trump's tariffs – and promises that the US will not end the escalating trade war between the world's two largest economies.
"China is confident that it will follow its own path and do its own thing well, and will not reject the stance of any provocations on the US side," the ruling Communist Party & # 39; s Daily Daily said. in a commentary on Sunday.
The United States would not win the trade war because suffering higher tariffs would be imposed on its farmers and businesses, the paper said.
Beijing's latest saber-rattling follows Trump's "decree" that US companies find "China alternative" for doing business, and that his announcement in Washington will justify additional tariffs to $ 550 billion in Chinese goods.
China, in turn, promises to impose new tariffs on $ 75 billion on US goods.
Trump is at the G-7 Summit in France, where Britain has Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, ask the president to ease the trade war before it can bring a global recession.
"The state of global trade is clear. I'm very worried about the way it's going. The growth in protectionism, of tariffs, is what we're seeing," Johnson said, according to CNN.
"There are all kinds of people, who will do whatever it takes to disrupt free trade and to fail trade deals, and I don't want to see that."
Asked if he would ask Trump directly do not escalate the trade war, Johnson told reporters, "Bet you."
