PLAYA VISTA, Calif. – After losing the past three games, LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard will play in his first game with Paul George against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said.
Leonard has not played since November 13 against the Houston Rockets due to a left knee injury he suffered in the loss. George made his Clippers debut Thursday in New Orleans, and he played three games without Leonard.
Leonard was seen after a morning shooting. Teammate Ivica Zubac said he can't wait to play the Clippers' first game with two All-Stars in the starting lineup.
"Yeah, finally," Zubac said when asked what it would be like when Leonard and George play together. "It's going to be great. We're really good with just Kawhi [playing and George out]. We're really good with only PG [and Leonard out]. So you know when you combine them, it has to be good. let's play it tonight, but I'm really excited. "
Leonard played in nine games this season and averaged 26.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists.
