Two days after an enticing whiplash launch that saw Fil tokenin rock rocket 118% before a nearly 80% plunge, the blockchain-based data storage platform is now turning into a week-long digital conference on hope the ship will be safe.
Billed as “Filecoin Liftoff Week,” the event focuses on education, infrastructure, interoperability, and future plans for the project. Beginning October 19, 2020, the five-day program features a variety of themes each day, such as “Build” and “The Future.”
Among the high-profile speakers are ConsenSys founder Joe Lubin, who will participate in a fireside chat on “Bridging Filecoin and Ethereum”;, and Internet Archive founder Brewster Khale, who will discuss “the importance of maintaining data. ” Other speakers include Aave CEO Stani Kulechov, Codefi Head of Product Corbin Page, and Polychain Capital founder Olaf Carlson-Wee.
October’s “Mine” day will be a particular highlight for prospective miners. The program will be assigned to Filecoin mining discussions, workshops, and panel discussions. Filecoin’s mining system offers greater rewards to miners who provide network storage space; independent miner Benjamin Hoesjbo will also provide a tutorial.
Community members are also invited to submit their own “events and celebrations” to be added to the official program. Attendees can view the entire program here.
The event came as FIL assets were looking to find a bottom after reaching a $ 208, October 15 high. It currently trades at $ 42.52.
Despite the plunge, the Filecoin team remains optimistic about future project prospects.
