After months of teasing and weeks of testing, Google is officially bringing Duplex artificial intelligence guidance to users who book movie tickets online through Assistant. Just ask the Assistant or search on Google with your Android phone to check show times for movies and then automate the Assistant in most of the reservation process from filling the form fields up to flex through payments.

Duplex-assisted online bookings, first announced back at The I / O, are available on over 70 theater and ticket agent websites, featuring partners such as AMC, Fandango, and MJR in the United States and Odeon in the United Kingdom.

The service uses the data you saved in advance when Google Chrome filled out personal information where needed and analyzed screens to deliver its own easy-to-respond or let you interact with website itself for a short section. You will then buy your tickets using a card or other funding source that you have linked to Google Pay.

We tested the booking process in late September and found some clues that it linked back to Duplex. We have since received at least one more report saying they could have it as early as July.

This feature is only available on Android phones through Assistant or Chrome. Google has said that it hopes to deploy Duplex to book car rentals online in the near future.

Duplex was first deployed last year to automate restaurant dining and other appointments by telephone.

You can now use Google Assistant to book restaurant reservations over the phone using Duplex, and today, we're announcing that technology to complete online tasks, such as purchasing tickets to movie.

With Google Assistant, you can now use your Android phone to quickly and easily purchase movie tickets on the Web, especially as you start thinking about fun family activities ahead of time. on vacation. Ask the Assistant like, "Hey Google, showtimes for [movie] in Phoenix this weekend". Or, you can do a search for movie hours from the Google app on Android.

After choosing a theater and time that is best for you, you will have the option to "Buy tickets" with Assistant from more than 70 theaters and ticket services of your choice, such as AMC, Fandango, MJR Theaters, and Movietickets.com in the US, or Odeon in the UK. From there, Chrome Assistant opens to guide you through the purchase of your ticket. Thanks to Duplex with Web technology, Assistant can navigate the site and input your information, such as payment information saved in Chrome.
