Governor David Ige today announced eight “trusted test partners” for the interisland trip to the provinces of Kauai and Maui.
Passengers flying from within Hawaii to Maui or Kauai may exceed the mandatory 14-day quarantine if they take an FDA-approved Nucleic Acid Amplification Test from a CLIA certified lab no later than early to 72 hours before departure and receive a negative result.
Travelers must register and upload their coronavirus test results to their Safe Travels Hawaii account and must have a test result upon their arrival, so airport reviewers can review the result, according to a news release from in the governor’s office.
Those who choose not to take a pre-travel test or do not come with a negative test from a trusted trial or travel partner will be subject to a 14-day inter-county quarantine, or may request an exemption from the province they are going to.
Maui Mayor Michael Victorino announced on Friday that Maui residents leaving for same-day or overnight medical purposes on another island may be excluded from the test requirement with appropriate documentation.
