Eva Mendes opens up about taking a break from Hollywood to raise her two daughters ̵

1; though she doesn’t cut a comeback now that the girls are older.

The actress, 46, known in movies like Witch at Training day, but has not acted since 2014 Lost River, directed by longtime lover Ryan Gosling. In a new interview with Sydney Morning Herald, Mendes gets the rationale about choosing to focus on the mother; she also manages her own fashion line for New York & Company.

“I feel, as far as my ambition is concerned, it has not disappeared, it has just shifted to children,” Mendes said, referring to the two children Esmeralda, 6, and Amada, 4, sharing with Gosling.

“I applaud and I hope women can do everything, but I’m not one of them – and, thankfully, I have a choice that doesn’t work and I realize how lucky I am that it is even an option. I am so happy to be able to incubate with my babies, but now that they are 4 and 6, I am starting to feel that my ambition will return, ”he told the Australian newspaper.

Parenting during the Los Angeles pandemic was as difficult for Mendes and Gosling as any other.

“Sometimes it feels like we’re running some kind of bed-and-breakfast with drunk and aggressive guests,” Mendes joked. “We really feel like we work in a hotel, and the guests are angry and bossy and ask for the food brought to them. And by the time they go to sleep, they are just leaving us to clean up and talk about how they treated us. treated that day! ”

He added, “When we think we are just ‘inside’, as all parents do at these times, we remind ourselves that these are good times, because we are all together and we are all is safe now. “

Although he is known for his privacy, Mendes shared some funny moments on his social media recently, along with a busy yellow-and-blue painting by his daughter Amada.

“Current Mood,” Mendes captioned the photo. “But how does my 4 year old know how to get it perfectly ?!”

In previous photos, Mendes referred to the turmoil of caring for two small children at a challenging time. In May, she posted a selfie documenting the colorful decorations of her daughters on their mother’s face, complete with bright blue eyes and scratches on her forehead.
