The Smiths are getting more attention than ever before thanks to Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Talk Table. But Jaden Smith also has a lot of fans. The young star makes a name for himself thanks to his music and unique fashion. And fans are often wondering what he will say next.
Back in 2013, a fan asked Jaden what he was looking for in a dating woman. And he mentioned that intelligence is very important. Here’s why
Will Smith once counseled son Jaden Smith to skip relationships in his early teens
RELATIONSHIP: Jaden Smith Says Will Smith Succeeds For 1 Reason: ‘That He May Do All’
Will Smith and Jada point out that they are not typical parents, as they do not have many rules in their household. But they certainly still have opinions about what Jaden and Willow chose to do. And when it comes to dating, Will and Jada have a lot to say about their children’s choices to partners.
It seems that Will once advised Jaden to skip all dating with teenagers. In 2013, Will and Jaden visited The Graham Norton Show along with some other celebrities. And the topic of dating came up.
“I heard Will, your dad, told you that now is not the time to date,” Graham Norton told Jaden. “Is that true?”
“He didn’t say you couldn’t date,” Jaden explained. “He said, hey, I’ll just give you some advice, friend to another friend, you don’t want a boyfriend now. You have a big movie coming out. It really makes your life complicated.”
Jaden says that ‘intelligence’ in women is most important if they want to woo her
It seems that 2013 was a popular year for Jaden to answer questions about his former life. Cambio interviewed him the same year to answer some questions from fans.
“They want to know, what are you looking for in a woman?” asked Jaden.
“Intelligence,” Jaden said first. “I say sometimes that you don’t understand unless you are really smart. Like, ‘You know, I read The Alchemist the other day and I thought it was really funny. ‘And they’ll be like,’ I don’t know what that is. ‘ And it feels like a, ugh, that sucks. “
It doesn’t seem like this kind of behavior is flying at Jaden’s critics, though. A writer for the New York Post noted that Jaden and Willow have a hypocritical nature because of the way they grew up.
“Jaden is 100% fearless, he has something to do,” the writer said Will about his son. “So as a parent it was scary, really scary – but he was willing to live and die on his own artistic decisions and he not only cared about what people thought.”
Jada Pinkett Smith is not the biggest fan of Jaden’s chosen romantic partner
While Jaden hopes to persuade smart people to meet, Jada does not seem to have an impression on who Jaden has chosen so far. In 2018, W Magazine reported that Jada discussed her children’s choices with romantic partners. While he loved everything Willow brought home, he had other opinions about his son.
At the time, Willow was only 17. And Jada said everything that was introduced to Willow’s family was “amazing, in all honesty.” But Jaden left him “worried.” However, Jada allows her children to make their own choices whether she will or not.
“Your kids don’t always flirt with the people you like, but I learned that you really just are there and support because it can create a conflict that you can’t get away with,” Jada explains.
We’ll wait and see who Jaden chooses to woo in the future. But he will no doubt think they are smart enough to understand who he really is!
