Judge rejects former Knox County middle school teacher’s request for judicial transfer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Millions of Americans are still waiting for another stimulus check, but those discussions are still in the air. However, a local organization is growing. The Knoxville Area Urban League is looking for eligible families to provide money.

Mortgage, rent and utilities assistance funds are available to residents in Knox, Sevier, Anderson, Jefferson and Blount counties. It is a grant, so it does not have to be paid for.

The money came from the CARES Act which was passed earlier this year to provide support to communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The state has set aside $ 150 million for Tennessee nonprofits to help support the communities they serve.
