It can be scary and kill the soul to be famous, especially when you are young. That’s what Justin Bieber is trying to tell fans, and that’s what he sang on “Saturday Night Live” in his disturbing new song “Lonely.”
He quietly started the song backstage in his dressing room, singing to himself in the mirror.
“What if you have everything but no one calls? Maybe then you will know me,” he sang. “̵6;Because I have everything, but no one listens, and that’s all oh so alone. I’m sad.”
He walked through the studio halls to the stage, singing: “Everyone saw me sick, and I feel like no one gave [shit]. They criticized the things I did as an idiot kid. “
Bieber released the music video of the song on Friday midnight. It features his voices but stars 14-year-old Jacob Tremblay from “Room” as a young Bieber, battling success and pain.
Earlier on “SNL,” Bieber released another new song, “Holy,” a mix of religion and love for wife Hailey Baldwin Bieber in a row that looked like a manger with a neon cross. He joined Chance the Rapper, his track partner.
