Applethree new iPhones today: the All will be available in preorder starting Friday, September 13 at 5 pm PT. New iPhones will be in stores a week later, on September 20. Previously, was an overnight affair. You need to stay up late to order the exact minute the Apple Store returns online, and hope that there aren't any issues, or else your phone will arrive in a final batch. Not this time.
An hour of 5:00 pm PT means that a large swatch of the world may fall asleep later. Apple may be hoping to snag more preorders this way, than die-hards that stay up all night during US times.
Even if you have the luxury of sleeping on a preorder day, it's still a good idea to claim your iPhone as soon as possible, or else risk getting it the day after it's release. If you get up early, you definitely want to be in that first batch. Here's everything you need to know about ordering a new iPhone this Friday.
(Apple also announced that.)
