U.S. Retail sales were unexpectedly fallen in April while vehicle purchases were destroyed, government data showed Wednesday.
Sales sales fell 0.2% last month, Commerce Department said. Economists polled by Reuters approve retail retailers gaining 0.2% in April.
In March, retail sales increased a seasonally adjusted 1.6% from February, the strongest increase since September 2017.
no season of sales dates back to December. It is taken as a sign that the healthy job market is likely to make consumers more eager to spend on ways to boost overall economic growth.
