One of the Home Depot employees told WSVN that Ripley was arrested after two unknown men boarded their car in his mother’s car.
“The passenger of the vehicle exited the vehicle, approached the mother, and asked for drugs,” Miami-Dade detective Angel Rodriguez also said. “The mother insisted she had no medicine. And so the passenger reached that point, grabbed her cell phone, released her cell phone, and took her child.”
Officers described the suspects as two black men – one of whom could have been wearing all black clothing and a black scarf on his face. They fled the scene in a light blue sedan.
