The FDA sent a warning letter to the Appleton doctor

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – An Appleton doctor is burning for claims he is making for certain treatments.

The FDA sent a letter to Dr. Michael Johnson of Optimal Health and Wellness for the treatments he promotes on his website.

The Johnson company lists many health issues that can be treated with products made from human umbilical cord or stem cells. His website also states that the company complies with FDA guidelines.

The FDA said he did not comply and the treatments were not approved by the FDA.

The agency also said Johnson did not have the proper license to legally sell the products he said he was using.

The letter asked Johnson to respond within 30 days and said his clinic was responsible for ensuring it complied with federal regulations.
