Atari’s repeated delays of the VCS console are almost ready two years after its announcement. The team announced that the first 500 (or more) Atari VCS production models should leave the factory by mid-June. It will still leave most of the 11,597 backing Atari waiting, but the team “cautiously” expects work on that to be carried out this summer now that the parts are available.
Things are still falling into place. Atari has not yet detailed the entire software lineup for VCS even with a game subscription game locked in. However, this is good news for supporters who worry that many delays, changing specs and behind-the-scenes drama may prevent the system from transmitting.
