The outbreak at Froedtert Hospital left at least 15 people sick



WAUWATOSA – At least 15 people tested positive for COVID-19 in an inpatient rehabilitation unit at Froedtert Hospital this week.

Wauwatosa hospital began testing all patients and unit staff last weekend, after several people tested positive for coronavirus.

The source of the outbreak is not yet known.

The hospital is now blocking all new entries in the unit until more is known about the outbreak, MJS reports.

Patients who tested positive were moved to another floor. Staff members who tested positive were quarantined, Froedtert said.

The unit is used to help people recover from strokes, spinal cord injury, heart arrest, cancer, among other issues.
