Lucas Bravo plays Gabriel in ‘Emily In Paris’

On Netflix’s Emily In Paris, Bravo hires Gabriel, a Parisian chef interested in recent import Emily Cooper (Lily Collins). In an interview with Manny the Movie Guy, the actor talked about what drew him to the paper.

“I just auditioned,” he explained. “And just working with (director) Darren Star to start with, [he’s] like an icon. Having such an American perspective while working in my hometown. And Lily Collins, Patricia Fields, and all the icons that will bring me one step closer to what, for me, this industry is. “

The actor said that the chemistry between the castes that the audience sees on-screen is real. He said that most of the time, the actors ended up having a ball on the set.

“It’s all about fun at the end of the day, and that’s really what it is,” Bravo said. “I came to set, and we all have such a chemistry that made this experience exactly what I expected when I started it.”

How does she feel about her role as ‘Emily In Paris’?

When talking Emily In Paris, Bravo revealed how layered his character Gabriel really is.

“I think he’s having the time of his life where he’s kind of lost,” he told Manny the Movie Guy. “He wants to do it alone. He doesn’t want any help, and at the same time, he has responsibilities, and he feels like Camille and I are a bit golden.”

He also revealed that he has a significant similarity in his character. Bravo knew his walk around the kitchen, and he did some of the cooking that Gabriel does on-screen.

“I used to be a sous chef at a restaurant a few years ago,” the actor said. “So when I first got the scripts I wanted, ‘Oh, wow, this is definitely for me, I’m really going to use those skills.’ And so they cooked me the omelets I made for Emily on the show. “

Finally, when addressing the criticism the series has drawn for its portrayal of French culture, Bravo suggests that it is quite accurate. He said that the creator of the show, Darren Star, has lived in France for many years and is familiar with its language and daily life.

“True, you know,” Bravo explained. “Darren experienced this because he lives in Paris and he speaks French. And so this is not just a prediction from an American perspective. This is from someone who actually lived here. So I really like the fact he found all those little points already [sometimes even we] do not see because we are in it. ”

Emily In Paris Netflix premiere on October 2nd.
